To help you get the most out of our platform, our in-house experts created a comprehensive Help Center to answer all of your top questions about BuildingConnected, BC Pro, and TradeTapp. Here are our five most popular Help Center articles for general contractors. You’ll learn how to send out invites in less than 10 minutes, manage and track all of your projects from one place, and more.
1. How general contractors can add bidders to projects
Did you create a bid package for the first time in BuildingConnected? Now you’re ready to start inviting bidders to your project! Just click on the orange “Add Bidders” button, and you can invite bidders using the search tab, by importing bidders from a different project, or by inviting a bidder via email.
2. How general contractors can sync their BuildingConnected calendar with Outlook/Office 365
Want to have all of your calendar invites and important dates in one place? You can manually sync your BuildingConnected calendar with Outlook/Office 365 so that you never miss another event. Start by navigating to the Calendar page from the menu on the left-hand side.
3. Online training: Bid Leveling
To provide an in-depth look at how to use our Bid Leveling feature, we recorded a how-to video with Cooper Jobling, Customer Success Manager at BuildingConnected. In this video, you’ll learn how to compare bids side-by-side with pinpoint accuracy, avoid wasting time, and efficiently and collaboratively identify the best bid.
4. How general contractors can create bidder list templates
In BuildingConnected, you can create bidder list templates to easily import bidders into new projects. Bidder list templates save automatically, so once you’re satisfied with your template, you can import it into a project to easily invite bidders. Begin by navigating to your Projects page from the left-hand menu and clicking on the “Bidder List Templates” tab.
5. How to publish a bid package
Within a project on BuildingConnected, you can publish bid packages one at a time before or after adding bidders to them. Bid packages are categories within a project in which subcontractors are invited to bid under one scope of work. Once bidders are added to a bid package, they will receive an email notification when the bid package is published.
