We are proud to announce that BuildingConnected has moved its headquarters to the historic San Francisco Chronicle building in downtown San Francisco. Our team, headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, has grown over 150 percent over the past year. Our new headquarters is 34,000-square-feet, spans two floors and includes amenities such as three kitchens, a fully stocked snack and coffee bar, bike storage and lockers, a pool table, a game area, multiple lounges and co-working spaces, as well as a large all-hands event space, a library for quiet work, easy access to public transportation, and a dog-friendly environment.
“The San Francisco Chronicle building is an architectural landmark,” said Co-Founder and CEO Dustin DeVan. “We are excited to be in a workspace that is truly supportive of our innovative team and will accommodate our next phase of growth.”
Fun Facts about the San Francisco Chronicle building:
- Built in 1924, designed by Charles Peter Weeks and William Peyton Day in the Gothic Revival architecture style.
- Most of the Gothic Revival detailing was removed in 1968 when the building was re-clad with stucco.
- In 1949, the de Young family founded KRON-TV. Until the mid-1960s, the station operated from the basement of the Chronicle Building.
Founded in 2012, BuildingConnected is the leading preconstruction management platform for real estate owners, general contractors, and subcontractors. Construction has been historically underserved by technology, so we took it upon ourselves to bring change to an industry that still relies on email, faxes, Excel spreadsheets, and other archaic tools to get the job done.
To bring preconstruction into the 21st century, we created a suite of tools to improve the preconstruction process, save everyone time and money, and help companies streamline their business and communicate better. Now, our platform is used by more than 2,500 general contractors and owners, and over 700,000 active subcontractors. With more than $100 billion in new construction projects bid out across our network every month, we’re connecting every business in the $10 trillion construction industry.
